We spent this past Sunday working on our front flower beds. The day was absolutely fabulous. The weather was beautiful, and having 2 kids to help makes it so much more fun and memorable. Kimberlyn has really become quite the worker bee outside. She is definitely an outside kid. Blake loves it outside, but not so much gardening. He did want to dig in the dirt, but did not feel he got enough responsibility doing that -- so he was kind of in and out. Kimberlyn helped figure out which color of flower I needed, she would pour in the plant food, and helped plant the flowers. She loves flowers! We also got the kids a butterfly and dragonfly on a flower pinwheel to put in the ground. Blake thinks the pinwheel is hilarious.
Unfortunately, we set the sprinklers to go off that night and then 2 hours later had a major storm. Our Periwinkles may have drowned, but the others survived (we got very lucky). But the day was so awesome - nothing, not even the storm could destroy. We had just talked about Spring and new life at church; this was a perfect follow up to our lesson.

I love that top left photo of the kids...so cute! It was a perfect day for being outside (despite the wind)!
