Blake's Birthday Party

Blake's birthday is May 8, but we decided to hold off on the party until school and sports were on break for the summer.  So we had his birthday June 15.  We had it once again at our church, so we could invite more people, and enjoy the beautiful yard space the church has to provide.  We rented a water slide for Blake's party.  I decided to rent instead of borrow b/c this slide could also be used dry.  And with an outside party, you are always taking a risk for rain.  And we were very close to an inside party as there was a storm at 4 AM that morning.  But all was well by the time we had the party at 10.

The slide ended up being huge!!! Way bigger than I had expected and went like a 1,000 mph!.  Which had me very worried for our little ones.  The 20 year olds that got there before us - set the slide up on the incline so the slide would be even faster.  Seriously, at 20, you don't think that is a bit much for a 5 year old party.  So needless to say, after my 10 year old nephew got a bloody nose b/c it was so steep, we moved it to level ground.  And it was still really really fast.  The kids that loved it, LOVED IT!  And the kids that didn't, DIDN"T.  It was way too much for the little ones - even though little Logan and Brennan did not mind going faster than a rocket down with me.  :)

Blake loved it so much he wants it again next year.  Needless to say, I am conflicted about it.  It was a great party.  All had fun, and most importantly, did not get hurt.  My dear friend Christina Powell took pictures for me, so I could run the party.

The cousins and Uncle Robbie came to celebrate

This picture looks mild, but this slide was anything but mild

Brennan and Logan settled for driving around since the slide was too big for them without an adult

Mikey doing air time.  He loved it!

Here is the monster - that was majorly majorly loved by the kids who loved it (which was many)

We had Fire truck rides

We had bubbles

We had velcro ball
