Happy Birthday, Blakey

This cutey patootie is 3!  What a wonderful Mother's Day gift.  I tell Blake that he is the best Mother's Day gift ever!  Kimberlyn is my best Christmas gift ever!  What a blessing to have 2 very sweet lovable, excitable, joyous, tough, and the list goes on kiddos.  Two small pieces of Heaven sent to our family.  Here are some fun facts about Blake's 3rd year:
  1. He is Mr. Particular - if something is supposed to be a certain way, or a way he thinks it should be, then he is going to make sure it goes that way.
  2. He likes things neat.  If he drops any food on the table or floor, he rushes to get a napkin/rag to clean it up.  He likes his hands clean, and if his shirt is slightly dirty or wet he wants a new one.  But we are working on that.  He now asks me if his shirt will dry - I let him know whether he needs a new shirt or not.  LOL
  3. He was easy to potty train.  We took Spring Break as potty training boot camp week, and he was a fabulous student.  We were suprised he got overnight as well...considering most of the year we were changing his sheets 2 to 3 times per week b/c he leaked out of the pull up!!!
  4. He is a perfectionist (which maybe the same as #1, but #1 includes the way he wants things in his head - not how it really should be).  This is why I think potty training went so well - including overnight.
  5. He loves to wrestle.  Oh he and Kimber have a field day wrestling.  He for awhile there he started biting during the wrestling, but after several good scoldings and seeng how upset Kimbo got, he got over that.
  6. Kimberlyn was a hard name for him to learn - he called her "Onan" for awhile.  Now that is her nickname.
  7. He could pronounce B and L but put together it had an N sound.  I worked with him and now he can do them together, but he rolls his L which sounds so stinkin cute!
  8. He is very much a joyful kid like his sister.  He sort of does an intensity shake like she does (those who know Kimbo, know what I mean).  This boy copies everything big sister does.  Glad he has such a great example in his life! :)
  9. He has never been afraid to put his head under water - he is the one who inspired Kimberlyn to swim last summer.  She did not want to be outdone by a 2 year old.  :)
  10. He loves school just like Kimberlyn
  11. He is not as huggy towards everyone like Kimberlyn, but boy howdy, he hugs, loves and pounds his mommy, daddy, Kimberlyn and Ellie.  Mommy always has to tell him to be gentle with his love.
  12. He does not say sorry until he really is sorry. So you know you are getting an honest sorry from Blake.
  13. He is a clown.  He loves telling jokes.  For awhile there I could not getting him to stop telling Knock knock jokes.  He never could quite complete them, but it was funny.  But there were times I wanted the knock knock jokes to cease.  :)
  14. He is doing great in swimming lessons.  Just working on getting more comfortable going to the instructor vs just mommy or daddy.  But he is pretty fearless.
  15. He repeats everything.  This boy talks talks talks.  He is very friendly with strangers.  Just not touchy touchy with people.  He followed our pest management guy around telling him about our lives.  When the guy was in the bathroom spraying, Blake informed him that he pee peed on the potty.  Made me laugh.
  16. Blake is a lively, passionate, friendly guy.  Whoever is blessed to know him - is blessed with a true friend.
  17. Blake goes all out on TV shows when he loves them.  It started with Thomas, then Mickey Mouse - all he wanted to watch was Mickey Mouse, then Backyardigans, Cars, Little Einsteins, and now we seem headed for Go Diego Go.  Have not been able to get him to love Super Why as much as Kimbo did.
We love you, Blake.  Thank you for the incredible 3 years.  We look forward to many more with you.
